Wild rabbits love to eating marigolds in summer when they are full bloom. Their petals have carotenoids, flavoxanthin and auroxanthin which are antioxidants, while their leaves and the stems have lutein, carotenoids, zeaxanthin, and beta-carotene.
Be aware that it is pot marigold or calendula that rabbits can eat. French marigold is not suitable for rabbits.
Caution: Feed all treats to your pet rabbit or guinea pig sparingly.
